Change types

Every kind of change Metascheduler can schedule, what it does, how it reverts, and which plan has it.

Each change has a change type. This is every one, by group. The key in brackets is what Shopify Flow's Target field shows.

Every type offers the same three end choices on a window: Revert, Set to something else and Keep. A one-time schedule always keeps.

Content

Change typeWhat it changesReverts to
Metaobject status (metaobject.status)Entries to Active (visible on your online store) or Draft (hidden). Each entry's own status before.
Metaobject fields (metaobject.fields)The fields you check on each entry. Leave one empty to clear it.Those fields' values before. Other fields are never rewritten.
Metafield value (metafield.value)A metafield on products, variants, collections, pages, blog posts, blogs, locations, markets or your store. The old value, or no metafield if there wasn't one.

Metaobject status only lists definitions with Active and draft status turned on, in the definition's settings.

Metafield types: single line text, multi-line text, integer, decimal, true or false, date, date and time, color, URL, JSON, and product, collection and variant references. Pick a defined metafield, or Other metafield (no definition) with its namespace and key.

Catalog

Change typeWhat it changesReverts to
Product status (product.status)Products to Active, Draft, Unlisted or Archived. Each product's own status before.
Product sales channels (product.publication)Publish or Unpublish, channel by channel. The channels each product was on, scheduled publishing included.
Collection sales channels (collection.publication)The same, for collections. The channels each collection was on.
Variant prices (variant.price)Set a price, or take a percentage or an amount off. Rounding and compare-at price options. Each variant's own price and compare-at price.
Tags (resource.tags)Tags to add and tags to remove, on products or blog posts.Takes off only the tags it added, and puts back only the tags it removed.

Unlisted products are sold through direct links only, and hidden from search, collections and recommendations. Archiving is usually for good: Draft hides a product the same way and is easier to undo by hand.

Variant prices are on Extra and Unlimited. See Run a timed sale.

Page (page.content)Publish or unpublish, or Edit content: title, content (HTML) and theme template.Only the fields it changed.
Blog post (article.content)The same as a page, plus excerpt and image.Only the fields it changed. Publishing back keeps the post's original date.
Store policy (shop.policy)Replaces a policy's whole text: refund, shipping, privacy, terms of service, terms of sale, cancellation, contact information or legal notice. The old text.

Store policies are on Extra and Unlimited.

What it can't change

  • Themes, discounts, checkout and catalogs: those are Shopify Rollouts' job. Metascheduler shows rollouts on the calendar and follows them.
  • Customers, orders and draft orders: not supported, on purpose.
  • Collection tags: Shopify's API has none.
