Metascheduler Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Metascheduler ("the App") schedules changes to Shopify stores ("the Service"): it makes a change at a set time, such as a price, a product's status, a menu, a page or a metaobject entry, and can put the old value back when the schedule ends. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account via the Shopify API:
- Shop Information: Your store's domain, name, email address, timezone, and currency code, plus your App settings: preferences, onboarding progress, the plan you're on and the access scopes you've granted.
- Access tokens: The access token (and refresh token) Shopify issues for your store, so the App can make your scheduled changes when no one is signed in.
- User Information: The Shopify user ID of the staff member who creates, edits, runs or resolves something in the App. It is stored with your schedules and their activity history, so you can see who did what. We don't store staff names or email addresses with them.
When you use the App to schedule changes, we also store:
- Your schedules: Their names, timing, and the changes they make, including the values to write and the names of the resources they change.
- Snapshots of your store content: Before the App changes something, it saves the value it's about to replace, and what it wrote, so it can put the original back when a schedule ends and show you what happened. Depending on what you schedule, a snapshot can hold metaobject entries and their fields, metafield values, product status, tags and publishing, collection publishing, variant prices, navigation menus, pages, blog articles, store policies, and shipping rates.
- Run history: When each scheduled change ran, its result, and any error Shopify returned.
- Rollouts: A copy of your store's Shopify Rollouts details (name, status, dates, traffic split, and a summary of what each rollout changes), so the App can show them on your calendar and follow them.
- Technical records: The IDs of the webhooks and Shopify Flow requests the App has received, so the same request isn't acted on twice, and the time a shipping profile last changed.
We do not collect or log information about individual buyers (your customers) who visit your store. The App can't schedule changes to customers, orders or customer metafields, and none of the records above are about customers.
We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring within the App, and collect data including your browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
The Access the App Asks For
At install, the App asks Shopify for access to read and write metaobjects, read metaobject definitions, and read your store's Rollouts. Everything else is optional: the App asks for it only when you choose to schedule that kind of change, and you can revoke it in the App's settings.
- Products and prices: Read and write products and their publishing to sales channels, to schedule prices, product status, tags and sales channels.
- Online store: Read and write navigation menus, pages, blog posts and store policies, to schedule changes to them.
- Locations and markets: Read and write locations and markets, to schedule metafields on them.
- Shipping: Read and write shipping settings, to schedule shipping rates, where the App offers it.
- Rollout details: Read themes, discounts and checkout settings, only so the App can name what each of your rollouts changes. The App never changes your rollouts.
The App uses this access only to make, check and undo the changes you schedule, and to show them to you.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:
- Authenticate you and your staff securely.
- Schedule and run your automated content workflows at the correct time based on your store's timezone.
- Undo a scheduled change when it ends, and warn you when something was changed outside the App in the meantime.
- Show you a history of what changed, when, and who started it.
- Communicate with you regarding important app updates or issues.
- Optimize or improve the App through crash and error reporting.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with the following third parties to help us provide the Service:
- Hostim: The App runs on Hostim, a hosting provider in the European Union, which stores and processes the App's data on our behalf.
- Sentry: We use Sentry to track and report application errors and crashes. When an error occurs, Sentry may receive technical data to help us fix bugs promptly, such as your store's domain, the page you were on, your browser type and IP address, and the App's log lines around the error. We don't send snapshots of your store content to Sentry.
- Shopify: The App works through Shopify, which processes your store's data under its own privacy policy.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. The App's own data is hosted in the European Union. Shopify, Sentry and other services you use with Shopify may process information outside Europe, including in Canada and the United States.
Data Retention
While the App is installed, we keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the Service:
- Schedules and Shop Information are kept until you uninstall the App and your data is deleted (below).
- Snapshots and run history are deleted 90 days after the run, once the scheduled window they belong to is over. A snapshot the App still needs to undo a change is kept until that change has been undone.
- Activity history is deleted after 90 days.
- Webhook and Flow request IDs are deleted after about 7 days.
When you uninstall the App, Shopify revokes the App's access to your store, and 48 hours later sends us a request to delete your store's data. When it arrives, we delete everything we hold for your store: Shop Information, access tokens, schedules and their changes, snapshots, run history, activity history, items waiting for your attention, the copy of your rollouts, and technical records. The only thing kept is the record that we received that deletion request (your store's domain and the request's ID), which is deleted after about 7 days. You can also ask us to delete your information sooner using the contact details below.
Changes the App made to your store stay in place after you uninstall it. A change that was due to be undone later isn't undone, because the App no longer has access to your store.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
