# Example: launch a product at a set time

> Publish a new collection at 9:00 sharp and add it to the menu, or run a weekend-only drop that comes back every Saturday.

Two patterns for launches: a one-time launch that stays, and a drop that comes back every weekend.

## A launch that stays

The products are ready as drafts, and should go live at 9:00 on Thursday and stay live.

### 1. Use the template

Select **New schedule**, then **Launch a collection**: publish at a set time, kept. Or start blank and choose **One time**.

### 2. Set the time

**Changes at** Thursday at 09:00, in your store's time zone.

### 3. Add the changes

1. **Product status** on the new products: **Active**.
2. **Product sales channels**: **Publish** to Online Store and Shop.
3. **Navigation menu**: **Edit items**, **Start from current menu**, and add a `New in` item linking to the collection.

A one-time schedule always keeps its changes, so there's nothing to choose at the end.

### 4. Schedule it

Select **Schedule**. At 09:00 the products go live, in the order listed.

> **From the product page**
>
> For a single product, open it in your admin and choose **More actions > Schedule a change**, then **Status**, **Active** and **Keep the change**.

## A weekend-only drop

Some products should only be on sale at weekends. This needs a repeating schedule (Extra or Unlimited).

### 1. Use the template

Choose **Weekend-only products**: active every weekend, draft again on Monday.

### 2. Check the repeat

**Repeats** weekly, **On** Saturday, **Each window lasts** 2 days, **Ends** **Never**.

### 3. Pick the products

**Product status**, **Active**, with **Revert** at the end, so each product goes back to its own status on Monday.

## Tell the team

With Flow, a **Schedule started** trigger can post in your team chat when the launch goes live, and **Change failed** can email someone if a product couldn't be published. See [Automate with Shopify Flow](https://metascheduler.app/help/automate-with-flow.md).
