Metascheduler is a calendar for changes to your Shopify store. You tell it what to change and when, and it makes the change on time, then puts things back when the window ends. It works on its own, or alongside [Shopify Rollouts](https://metascheduler.app/help/follow-a-rollout.md).

This tutorial takes about five minutes.

## Install the app

### 1. Add Metascheduler to your store

Install Metascheduler from the Shopify App Store, or from the **Add to Shopify** button on this site. Shopify asks you to approve the access the app needs at install: metaobjects and rollouts. Everything else is optional and asked for later, when you need it.

### 2. Open it from your admin

Metascheduler opens inside your Shopify admin, under **Apps**. The first time, it starts a short setup.

## Go through the setup

The setup has four steps. You can skip any step, or all of them with **Skip setup**.

### 1. Welcome

A quick overview of what Metascheduler does and how it works with Rollouts.

### 2. What do you want to schedule?

Check the kinds of change you plan to make: **Metaobjects and metafields**, **Products and prices**, **Online store**. When you continue, Shopify asks once for the access those need. If you decline, you can grant it later in **Settings > Access**.

### 3. Confirm your time zone

Metascheduler shows your store's time zone. New schedules use it unless you choose another one.

### 4. Create your first schedule

Start from a template, **Follow a rollout**, or **Start blank**. Each one opens the schedule editor with that start point filled in. [Schedule your first change](https://metascheduler.app/help/first-schedule.md) walks through the editor.

> **Nothing runs until you schedule it**
>
> A schedule you haven't scheduled is a draft. Drafts are safe to try things out with: they never change your store.

## Find your way around

The app has five pages in your admin's sidebar:

| Page | What it's for |
| --- | --- |
| **Calendar** | Everything scheduled on your store, including Shopify rollouts, by month, week, day or agenda. |
| **Schedules** | Every schedule, in tabs: Upcoming, Live, Drafts, Ended and Needs you. |
| **Rollouts** | Your store's Shopify rollouts, and the schedules that follow them. |
| **Activity** | Every start and end that ran, item by item, before and after. |
| **Settings** | Default time zone, access, Flow, your plan and the app's language. |

*The Calendar shows your schedules and Shopify rollouts together.*

## Use the setup guide

Until you've done the basics, the Calendar shows a setup guide with five steps: **Grant access**, **Create a schedule**, **Schedule it**, **See it run** and **Connect Flow** (optional). A step stays done once it's done. You can hide the guide, and show it again from **Settings > Setup guide**.
